Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP), one of the world’s leading global payment networks, has partnered with Atlanta-based crypto payment service provider BitPay.
The aim of this latest deal is to expand UATP’s reach to a wider global customer base by allowing customers to pay for travel using cryptos.
UATP, a payment network that is jointly operated by the world’s top airlines, is accepted by merchants worldwide for air, rail, and agency payments.
According to Pyments.com, “travel and leisure” ranks 5th on the list of where people used their cryptocurrencies the most. And with these activities’ high ranking in cryptocurrency purchases, UATP wants to tap this big opportunity by opening its platform on major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Bitcoin, and other cryptocurrencies.
Big Demand in Travel
Compared with other items and services that can be purchased through cryptocurrencies, travel is indeed a high-value purchase. Also, it is clear that cryptos wouldn’t just be a fad and fizzle anytime soon as its use keeps on expanding every day.
BitPay is certainly an ideal partner for UATP because of its proven competence in crypto payment services. BitPay has recently added Litecoin to its list of accepted cryptos, expanding its crypto list and making its platform more accessible for everyone. In addition, BitPay also supports all crypto wallets, which would certainly provide a lot of convenience for UATP users.
UATP’s wide experience in airline payments and BitPay’s expertise in cryptocurrency payments is certainly a game-changer for the payments service industry. Their combined power would certainly make an impact on the global payments service competition, but above all, would provide customers with extreme flexibility and efficiency.
Ralph Kaiser, president and chief executive officer of UATP said that he is looking forward to this innovative partnership.
