- Travel-management firm TripActions has joined theย UATPย travel-payment network as a merchant. UATP enables payments for airlines, Amtrak, and travel agencies.
- Gateway providerย NMIย said it acquiredย USAePayย in a deal that will strengthen NMIโs coverage in verticals, including retail and restaurant, where USAePay has had success. The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, also will help create a stronger omnichannel capability for NMI. The combined company had more than $100 billion in annual payment volume and more than 1.5 billion payment transactions in 2020.
- Core processorย Jack Henry & Associates Inc.ย said more than 170 financial institutions have contracted to use the companyโs faster-payments hub, JHA PayCenter, of which 93 are now live. The hub connects to The Clearing Houseโs Real-Time Payments network as well as Early Warning Serviceโsย Zelleย platform, and will connect to the Federal Reserveโsย FedNowย real-time payments system, which is embarking on a pilot.
- Payments-software providerย pVerify Inc.ย launched a product that lets a doctorโs office front desk collect payment via QR code, email, or text message, create card-on-file payment plans, and enable contactless payment on any device with Web access.
- In related news, health-care payments providerย VisitPay LLCย announced it has renewed contracts with Inova Health System, Intermountain Healthcare, and St. Lukeโs Health System. The three combined account for 1 million patient users.
- Affirm Inc.ย said Vacasa, a vacation-rental management service, will offer the installment payment service to its customers.
- The latest Cybercrime Report fromย LexisNexis Risk Solutionsย finds that while the number of human-initiated attacks dropped in 2020 by roughly 184 million, those stemming from bots increased by 100 million. The largest number of fraud attacks originated in the United States.
- InComm Paymentsโย OLS Paymentsย unit is working with Intelligent Clearing Network, a coupon-clearing company, to bring a product to retailers that can address coupon fraud, processing, and clearing.
- Payments providerย Lightspeed POS Inc.ย has paired with dLocal Ltd., a payment platform for global merchants, to enable Lightspeed merchants to accept local payment products throughout Latin America.
- A partnership consisting ofย Worldline, a European processor and payments-technology provider, and Amadis, a payments-software firm, said it has completed a multi-country rollout of payments systems for the Subway restaurant chain.
- Cross-border payments specialist TransferWise Ltd. changed its name toย Wise.
