The Future of Travel Payments

News

The travel industry is undergoing a significant transformation in its payment systems, driven by technological advancements, evolving consumer preferences and the complexities of global commerce. Payments are no longer just transactional; they are central to customer experience, operational efficiency and profitability.

“I think the last five years you have seen more movement in payments than we had the preceding 10,” said Wendy Ward, chief marketing officer at UATP, a global payment network.

In an interview in the PhocusWire studio at Phocuswright Europe, Ward explained how travel companies have evolved from a focus on fixing cart abandonment to now understanding that an effective payment strategy can also drive customer growth and satisfaction.

Ward also discussed how technology is impacting payments, and she shared how UATP, nearly 90 years since its founding, is continuing to evolve and innovate. Watch the full discussion below.
